Klinger

Manufacturer and wholesaler of appendages

The Klinger Picoff product range comprises many different technical products (appendages) with a wide variety of specifications. All those specifications are included in the catalogue, but many different table structures are required to present the information in a convenient manner. As a result, creating the catalogue lay-out is a complicated task. Klinger Picoff needed a solution, therefore, that simplified data processing and speeded up lay-out work. Catalogger has made it possible to maintain Klinger Picoffs data in a database and automate lay-out tasks. As a result, all information is now placed automatically in the complex table structures in the correct manner. The next step for Klinger Picoff was to place its product range on the Internet according to the same principle. By combining the Catalogger database with Stentor, the same information (including the complex table structures) could be placed online in very little time. Klinger now has a single solution for both media.

What solutions did Guidance provide?

  • The Catalogger content management and database publishing solution for catalogues. After Klinger Picoff Netherlands, fellow subsidiaries in Belgium, Britain, Austria and Spain followed suit and have opted for the same solution. Each of these countries now manages its own database and is able to adapt lay-outs to its own specific requirements independently;
  • An Internet site for Klinger Picoff Netherlands using Stentor, based on the Catalogger database. A website for Klinger Austria based on the Dutch website.
